Indeed, the option of augmenting the distance from wich a player can be away from the host on a non dedicated or co op server is not working on ARK Survival Ascended. The problem : In the setting, the options of tether distance does show up and you can slide it to augment or change the number however it doesnt translate the change in the game.By default it's 1. It will allow him to host the game on his pc, then you two can join that session. There will be no tether distance. It's default is something like 200M but there's realistically no limit to how high it can go.You can change the distance in non dedicated settings screen.
