Memento is only good so long as you are getting the kills and the trophies. If you're no longer getting them (pvp, group, whatever) then it's terrible. Backpack talent doubles your bonus armor per stack. If you need the extra bonus armor then the backpack is good.

But lately I’ve noticed that I can have my memento stacks full (30) and will lose them immediately if I fast travel into a safe zone. It didn’t used to work like this, unless I’m losing my mind. I used to fast travel around all over the map with a full memento backpack and just keep topping it off. I’m pretty sure anyway.

I farmed Heroic Summit and targeted backpacks for more than 12 hours with no exotic backpack or exotic drop whatsoever. Did it on Challenging and got Memento within 30-45 minutes. Apparently challenging is where you want to farm your exotics.

So, for example, if you want your skills to hit as hard as possible on your skill build, memento is not the backpack you are looking for. But if you are okay with exchanging damage for a little bit of everything and chasing drops than yes, it is a nice addition. The bonus armour from memento is not reliable, lasts 10 sec and requires a kill. So it’s worse at synergizing with intimidate, compared to adrenaline rush. However, if you can get full stacks on it, then you don’t need intimidate on chest and can roll another talent.
