There's no dirt or debris, so I ordered a new side brush motor module and assembled it.

thanks. This is the first time we used it. I will check but I would be surprised if that was the issue. At first it would spin on the hardwood floor and stop when it got on a rug. Then shortly thereafter it stopped spinning altogether. If it’s hair, use a Philips head screwdriver and remove the one screw, clean the hair, reattach.

The s9+ vac definitely knows it’s on carpet yet it continues to spin the brush which seems to absolutely mangle it. It’s been over the carpet only twice and it’s absolutely knackered. On the S9, the brush is pretty easy to remove- just a twist of a small screwdriver, and you can keep the screw intact on the brush.
