I'm curious how far you got with this. I have a CMMG Dissent bufferless upper that claims to run on any mil-spec AR-15 lower. I tried Hoffman's latest SL-15 but couldn't get the rear takedown close to lining up. The whole design behind the upper should negate the need for extreme buffer tower reinforcement.
