So picking my one and only semi-auto shotgun to do a variety of things from plinking to clays to possibly occasional casual 3 gun. Looking at Benelli M1 buds exclusive and Franchi Affinity 3. Less than $200 price difference. Leaning Benelli just for the name, although I know that Affinity is made at the same plant.

I was buying my first shotgun and wanted it to be able to multiple things. Like being able to add a mag extension for 3 gun matches, but at the same being able to use for hunting.

I have a Affinity 3 and an A400(and a Benelli M2). The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: it’s got a 26” barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish. If you want inertia and are just starting out, the Affinity 3 or the Benelli M2 are the 2 I recommend most. For gas guns, the A400 is the top contender imo.

The a300 will shoot softer so it will help for high volume shooting or shooting with heavy loads. I can't think of any advantage for the affinity, but its still a very good gun. I see the affinity as a walk a lot shoot a little gun, and the a300 more as a waterfowl/clay/dove gun. Like.

Both the Montefeltro and M2 are very good guns. The Monte is better at cycling lighter loads than the M2. The Monte it thinner through the forearm and slightly lighter in weight. The Monte holds five rounds total to the four of the M2. They both use the same chokes, have shims for drop and cast and share a bore diameter. The A300 has a traditional recoil pad and will allow you to adjust LOP. It also has a gas operating system and will be easier on the shoulder. It's going to come down to fit, the rest is just fluff.One other difference is the forearm is slimmer on the m2, but I have zero issues with the forearm on the affinity. Both are high quality guns. On a side note I own a 870 compact as well and I consider it to be one of the best turkey guns made.
