Before anyone jumps on this subscription, here's what I noticed with the trial: 1) Requires internet connection to function, but often the M3 has no connection in the morning and is slow to reconnect. By the time I back out of garage, it cannot auto close. 2) The myQ hub has a buggy WiFi driver.
MyQ by the App works flawlessly for me, it's just the Tesla integration that's inconsistent. I believe it has something to do with WiFi / Cellular switching, but that's just a theory.To use the Tesla MyQ interface requires a subscription. For me, the $45/year fee was worth it for the automatic open on arrival and close after leaving. When I enrolled, the service included the device to make a HomeLink opener compatible with MyQ for $1. I still think you are confusing myQ (Wi-Fi enabled garage Door opening) with homelink which is an RF hardware based opener. MyQ has nothing to do with homelink. My guess is this is the answer musk was talking about when responding to the request of having Wi-Fi enabled garage Door opening via tesla.For what it's worth, one reason I was attracted to this Tesla integration is to enable control of more than 3 devices which is otherwise the hard limit of HomeLink devices in Tesla or most any vehicle. It would be nice to be able to have similar access from my Tesla to other MyQ shared houses (like my elderly parents).
