Thanks for the advice bartkat and king1999, my 2006 Lexus IS 350 just had this incident where the check VSC, traction, and check engine light all came on simultaneously. I was bit concerned since my warranty just ran out and was thinking I may have to spend large amount of money.

I found that the position of the AFS switch made no difference after the flashing began, but if I parked and turned everything off, the problem must sometimes have reset, because it did not always come on again straight away. Put the gear in Park and come to a stop. Search for the VSC button. Depending on the model of your car, it may be at the steering wheel or behind it, although it is frequently close to the gear stick. For a few seconds, press and hold the VSC button. The TRAC OFF and VSC OFF indication lights will now turn on, as you can see.

A little googling LED me to suspect the linkage on the height sensor behind the rear right wheel. Sure enought the lower ball joint on the linkage had seized and the linkage had snapped in the middle.ABS warning light.
