Legion 7i (2020) hinge issue. Hi all, I'm from Canada and have owned this laptop for 15 months, so it's 3 months out of warranty. I love the laptop but am really disappointed in Lenovo and it's lack of accountability. I've only used the warranty once when ~15% of the screen had severe pixel bleeding. Now I'm out of warranty and the hinge/screen ... Ideapad flex 5 broken hinge cracked screen. Lenovo's hinges are known to explode without warning, the glue attaching the screen to the hinge fails and this happens, see all the class action lawsuits going on. They have a different hinge design than the 7i and the only issue with the 5/5i currently is a common complaint of keyboard issues, which lenovo seems to be dealing with from anecdotal evidence including my own experience.

I called the store where I bought it, and they agreed to issue me a rental computer (for free, yay) and told me to contact Lenovo.We own the Lenovo Yoga 7-14ITL5 Laptop - Type 82BH, and the Lenovo support team denied the repair and said they don't make out-of-warranty exceptions for faulty hinges unless it's right after the warranty expires. This is obviously a known-issue, as the rep admitted to over the phone, yet Lenovo chooses not to stand behind their product.

Hinges on all laptops suck unless you’re spending like $1500+. Every manufacturer uses the same plastic hinge mount design and none are any better than the others. Saying this is strictly a Lenovo thing is bad because that may give inaccurate expectations to anyone else buying a laptop from a different brand.
