Luckily, quite a few prerequisites are similar between pre-vet and pre-med (I think), so you can probably take more time to get more experience and decide.
Type up a nice resume and a cover letter, explaining your goal of vet school. Take it down to a vets office, talk to the vet if you can, the manager if the vet's not there. Dress nicely, be super polite (Even to the front desk staff- a lot of times people hiring ask the front desk staff what their opinion is).Then class usually starts back at 1:10 and we might have one or two classes getting done at 2 or 3. On Thursdays, we get done at 2, but some people have a 2 hour lab or tutorial, others have a break, then we have a class from 4-5. Thursdays are usually the only 9-5 days. Our pre-vet club has done a suture clinic (teamed up with local med school), volunteered at a horse rescue and a dog shelter, had animal trainers present, and one time somebody came in to teach us some basic animal first aid/rescue things (think red cross).

Mar 18, 2008. #4. my friends that are in vet school have told me that none of the classes individually are harder or much harder than a hard undergrad course, but what makes it hard is the fact that there aren't easy classes (like easy gen eds in undergrad).But really, make sure you have the pre-reqs you need for vet school and if not, take the one you need. Otherwise physiology would probably be marginally more helpful than anatomy, probably because it won't really change much between animal and human as opposed to anatomy (some different body parts and terminology).
