Uranium is great for blunt weapons like maces in fact a uranium mace is best vanilla melee weapon. They're also great for walls having the second best health after plasteel. You also need it for uranium slug turrets which is a necessity for late game kill boxes. I personally use it for my reactor from vanilla expanded - power.
