Not really much defense against any ghost events. You can dodge it pretty easily, I’ve had it spawn on me and it seems to have a bit of a grace period itself. 10% sanity isn't worth bothering trying to dodge it. I didn't love it at the time but they've nailed it with the updates and now I can be scared all over again.

Oni are generally very active ghosts but beware each ghost event drains 20% sanity instead of the normal 10% which is a big giveaway but also deadly since it can hunt after 2-3 ghost events depending on your starting sanity. Also they can't do the airball ghost event keep that in mind.
