If your starter clicks, jump it first. Usually the problem will start with a low (possibly getting bad) battery. If that is no help, then have the alternator tested. I got it to start and run for about 3 seconds but then it turned itself off. I found a way to start it on this site by putting it to run mode and then starting it, that works okay but if I paid 27k for a car it needs to work as intended. This also leads me to think if it has problems now what's gonna happen 5 years down the road.

If the engine cranks briskly, your battery may be ok. You need fuel, spark, and compression to run. So, you are missing a least one. Have you tried battery reset to see if taking all of the systems back to zero helps? Disconnect negative cable, depress brake pedal 30 seconds, then reconnect and see what happens.
