I recently purchased an older Marlin 39. It is the HS variety of the model 39, but upon removal of the bolt I discovered the firing pin is broken. Does anyone know does the model 39A firing pin fit the model 39's and if not does anyone know where a model 39 firing pin can be purchased?

Both my model 99's, one from circa 1920 and the other from the early 1960's, will decock by pulling the trigger back just as the lever closes. When closing the action, you'll feel noticiable increased resistance the last inch or so, that's when to pull the trigger so the sear releases as the action closes the bolt.
