The part number for this module is #41470A26, it is $418 Mercury retail. Very expensive part to tell you that your engine mounted oil tank is low. I won't say it is the correct thing to do but you could disconnect the tan wire for this module and keep an eye on the oil tank mounted on the engine.

Yes the XR2 would rev between 5500 to 6000 compared to 5000-5500 of the standard blackmax. It is slightly ported, 200hp exhaust and jetted carbs. It will give you a slightly better performance then the black max engine if it is still in good shape. Let me know if you have further questions. Noel.
