If I put light pressure on the pedal when stopped it won't engage, but if I press the pedal down with normal pressure it engages. Luckily, resetting the REP light in your Chevy Malibu is relatively easy. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. Wait for at least 30 seconds before restarting the engine. Check and clean both the air filter and throttle body. Restart your car and see if the light goes away.
