Our IM colleagues are baffled at the amount of autonomy and critical care knowledge anesthesiologists have. FYI, our program has 5 pediatric attendings, 1 surgery resident, and 2 internal medicine residents that switched over to anesthesiology. They never looked back. Also we have more flexibility.

FWIW, looking over the data from last year's spreadsheet, and comparing it to my own experience so far this cycle, it looks like it's following the same trajectory.
