Cold start problem. Bought an 03 500, 5,000 miles, back in 2011. Now has 15,000 miles, but has always been difficult to start on cold mornings. Had the carbs out twice, cleaned and adjusted, and the engine runs fine. But the enricher (choke) has never worked. Some of the older 1500's had a problem with bent shift forks, but it would probably be jumping out of gear if that was the case. The positive neutral finder on the Vulcans make the 1-2 shift a little clunky, that's more likely what it is. You have to shift with authority, don't granny shift it.
