The difference is really adjustability of the system and the bling factor. The ohlins have better adjustability then the showa's. For somebody who is racing, thats a nice feature to have. Pro's for Ohlins are that they are quality units. The build quality is right up there as you'd expect, and they work a treat when they are setup. Downsides are that they require a bit more tooling and knowledge to service, parts are exy, and the knowledge base isn't that huge for the home tuner.

Depends what your after. The shorter shocks give the bike a nice stance and I'm sure some will give a better ride than even oem 13". But you sacrifice travel length and some lean angle.
