Yeah, I had to add the 30 fps and dynamic fps mods otherwise it stays at 20fps. I have EA 3605, and a bunch of performance mods, and it runs at about 25-30 fps. The biggest difference made for me was unlocking the fps. I strongly recommend against using Yuzu EA releases as they tend to break performance every now and then. Mainline is perfectly fine these days. Biggest problem with yuzu on the deck is the GPU clock bug, which locks the GPU to 1040mhz. Manually setting it to 1600mhz greatly increases performance in yuzu, but after a few seconds GPU will be locked to 1040mhz again. You can use the overlay to confirm this issue (which exists for any emulator in steamos currently).
